I went for dinner with a friend to 1 Lombard street to try their modern European menu.
They have a stunning glass cupola – a centrepiece dome designed by Italian architect Pietro Agostini. It makes the lovely elegant dining area and bar space feel even more grand.
Great steaks and seafood dishes. They serve lovely desserts including our great chocolate fondant with a oozy chocolate centre and a light creme brulee with a crunchy sugar top.
The thing that makes this place so memorable is their excellent, and some fabulously exotic, cocktails.
Thanks for a great evening out. We will be looking forward to visiting again to check out their newly opened 1776 restaurant – we have heard some good things from friends, especially about their fillet of Black Angus Beef. Can’t wait to go back and check this new addition out soon.
